About this event

The Macquarie Bondi to Bronte Ocean Swim returns in 2026 for its 25th anniversary, bringing swimmers back to one of Australia’s most iconic open water events. It takes place on Sunday 8 November 2026, in a one-off move from the event’s usual first Sunday in December timeslot.

Swimmers will take on the traditional Bondi to Bronte course, a spectacular swim of about 2.1km around Mackenzies Point. The route showcases Sydney’s famous eastern beaches, with ocean views, sandstone cliffs and the much-loved finish at Bronte.

To mark the anniversary, the 5km event returns for experienced ocean swimmers looking for a bigger challenge. The program also includes additional ocean swim options and festive finish-line celebrations, creating a lively community atmosphere for swimmers, supporters and volunteers alike.

This anniversary edition blends classic Bondi-to-Bronte tradition with a special milestone feel, making it a standout date on the Australian ocean swimming calendar.
