About this event
Bottlebutt Bash Trail Run takes runners into the scenic Burrawan State Forest near Port Macquarie for a choice of four trail-running challenges. Held on Sunday, 7 March 2027, the event is designed to suit a range of abilities, from those new to trail running through to experienced runners seeking a demanding forest challenge.
Courses include approximately 7 kilometres, 12 kilometres, a 21.1-kilometre half-marathon loop and the Bottlebutt Bash Marathon, which covers two laps of the half-marathon course. The routes follow singletrack trails through the forest, combining a memorable natural setting with the physical challenge of uneven off-road terrain.
A highlight of the course is Old Bottlebutt, a distinctive Red Bloodwood tree believed to be more than 200 years old. This grand forest landmark gives the event its name and provides one of the area's hidden natural attractions along the trail.
The event is scheduled from 6.30am to 2pm, with the start and finish area at the corner of Ferny Creek Road and Burrawan Forest Drive, Herons Creek. On-site facilities include parking, and the event welcomes people with access needs. Event details, course arrangements and inclusions may change.
