About this event
The Bottlebutt Bash Trail Run is a multi-distance trail running event set in the Burrawan State Forest near Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast. It offers a true forest running experience, with courses that wind through trails linked to the area’s well-known old-growth bushland and the famous Bottlebutt tree.
Runners can choose from four distances: 42.2km, 21.1km, 12km and 7km. The marathon course is completed over two laps of the half-marathon route, while the half marathon is one lap through the forest.
This event is designed to suit a wide range of abilities, from experienced trail runners chasing a marathon challenge to newcomers looking for a shorter off-road run. The varying distances make it a flexible way to experience the natural surroundings of the Port Macquarie region.
Held in March, the Bottlebutt Bash Trail Run combines bushland scenery, technical trail sections and a relaxed local event atmosphere, making it a popular choice for runners who enjoy adventure-style racing in a forest setting.
