The Buffalo Stampede Festival is a three-day trail running festival in Bright, Victoria, set in the Victorian High Country from Bright to Mount Buffalo. It is Australia’s original Sky Run and brings together runners of all levels, with distances ranging from a junior 2km event through to the iconic 100km Buffalo Stampede.
The program also includes 5km, 10km, 20km and 42km race options, plus multi-day stage race formats for those looking for a bigger challenge. The festival is known for its mountain course, which climbs from the township of Bright up to Mount Buffalo, including the Horn, the park’s highest point.
This event is part of the SkyRunning circuit and is also described as UTMB World Series and ITRA-certified, adding to its reputation as a major international trail running event. It draws large fields of trail runners and is designed to suit both competitive athletes and families.
