The Christmas 10K is a festive long-distance ocean swimming event held at Coogee Beach in Western Australia on Saturday, 19 December 2026. The event features three race distances, offering options for experienced endurance swimmers, developing ocean swimmers and those looking for a shorter seasonal challenge.
- Fremantle Ports 10km Challenge: Complete three laps of the 3.4km circuit in the clear waters of Coogee Beach. The event is promoted as a Rottnest-qualifying swim, making it a significant challenge for distance swimmers.
- Port Coogee Santa’s Lap: Take on a single 3.4km lap around the scenic course, providing a substantial endurance swim without the commitment of the full 10km.
- City of Cockburn Merry Mile: Swim 1,600m in a shorter community-focused event suited to swimmers seeking a more accessible ocean challenge.
The 10km course is designed around multiple laps, with a personal paddler accompanying each swimmer during the challenge. The shorter events provide a chance to experience the atmosphere while building confidence and endurance in open water.
With its beach setting, festive theme and range of distances, the Christmas 10K is a spirited way to finish the swimming year. Participants can challenge themselves over a marathon distance, step up to a longer ocean swim or enjoy a shorter seasonal splash at Coogee Beach.
