Make a splash this Christmas at the Christmas 10K Swim, a community ocean-swimming event held at Coogee Beach in Western Australia on Saturday, 19 December 2026.
The event offers three distances, making it suitable for experienced open-water swimmers, families and participants looking for a festive pre-Christmas challenge:
- Fremantle Ports 10km Challenge: Swim three laps of the 3.4km course in the waters of Coogee Beach. The event is a qualifying swim for the Rottnest Channel Swim and Port to Pub solo events. Swimmers may also complete the full distance with their own personal support paddler.
- Port Coogee Santa’s Lap: A 3.4km, one-lap ocean swim offering a rewarding challenge without the commitment of the full 10km course.
- City of Cockburn Merry Mile: A 1600m festive community swim designed for friends, families and swimmers seeking a shorter distance.
With multiple distances, a welcoming community atmosphere and a distinctly Christmas-themed setting, the event is an opportunity to finish the year with an ocean swim at Coogee Beach. Participants can choose their challenge, enjoy the festive spirit and support local charity Friends of the Community.
Entries for the 2026 event are scheduled to open on 23 October.
