Coastal Quest opens on the Surf Coast at Lorne, where the Classic Long course sends teams into a day of trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and navigation. The event forms part of a two-day adventure racing weekend across Lorne and Anglesea.
Saturday at Lorne
The Lorne stage is based where the Otway Ranges meet Loutit Bay. Teams of two race together, moving between checkpoints across a mixed coastal and forest environment while combining endurance with route choice and map work.
Classic Long Course
The Saturday Classic Long option is listed as approximately 5 to 8 km paddle, 10 to 12 km trek and 20 to 35 km mountain bike. Participants can race this single day or combine it with Sunday's Classic course as the Epic stage race.

- Classic Long: Saturday morning in Lorne.
- Epic: Saturday in Lorne plus Sunday in Anglesea.
