Set against the scenic Northern Beaches of Sydney, Collaroy Beach Ocean Swims offers a choice of open-water challenges within the spectacular Long Reef Aquatic Reserve. Swimmers can enjoy views of reef patches and marine life while taking part in a relaxed, community-focused event suited to families, first-timers and experienced ocean swimmers.
- 300m swim: A shorter course for young swimmers and beginners developing confidence in open water. Suitable for swimmers aged 8 and over.
- 800m swim: A welcoming next step for children and adults, including those trying ocean swimming for the first time or building their swim fitness. Suitable for swimmers aged 10 and over.
- 1.5km swim: A longer course around the marine reserve, offering an immersive ocean-swimming experience and underwater views. Suitable for swimmers aged 14 and over.
Registration opens at 7.30am, followed by the 300m swim at 8.30am, the 800m swim at 9am and the 1.5km swim at 10am. Online entries close at 9.30am on event day.
Wetsuits are welcome but not required. As Collaroy is an open beach, conditions may vary with the swell, tides, shifting sandbanks, gutters and reef patches, particularly on the longer courses.
