About this event
Set against the scenic shoreline of Collaroy Beach, this community ocean swim offers a relaxed way to enjoy open-water racing in one of Sydney’s most picturesque coastal settings. The course takes in the Long Reef aquatic area, with short distances that suit first-timers, families and swimmers looking for a friendly start to the ocean swim season.
The event includes three swim options: 300m, 800m and 1.5km. The shortest swim is ideal for younger and novice swimmers, the middle distance suits swimmers wanting a slightly bigger challenge, and the longest swim is a more substantial ocean swim through the marine park surroundings.
There is a laid-back, local atmosphere throughout the morning, with registration opening early and the swims running in stages across the morning. Wetsuits are permitted, and the water is typically comfortably cool for spring swimming. The event also has a community feel after the race, with time to unwind and enjoy the beachside setting.
For a keepsake, official event t-shirts are available by pre-order in kids’, women’s and men’s sizes, with orders closing in mid-October for collection at the event.
