The Dave Winner Beach to Bombie Swim is a much-loved ocean swim held at Coalcliff on the NSW South Coast. This 2km community event begins on the sand at Coalcliff Beach and heads out to the reef break known as the Bombie, offering a scenic and challenging course with a strong surf club feel.
Run by Coalcliff Surf Life Saving Club, the swim is part of the club’s ocean swim calendar and is scheduled to start at 11.00am, with sign-in required beforehand for the safety briefing. The event is named in honour of Coalcliff SLSC Life Member Dave Winner, whose resilience and ongoing service have made him a respected figure in the local surf community.
Beyond the swim itself, the day is known for its friendly atmosphere and post-race connection. Participants and supporters can expect a festive local gathering and a chance to share lunch and stories after the event, making it as much about community as competition.
