Run where the Gippsland Lakes meet Bass Strait at the Lakes Entrance Running Festival, a two-day coastal event combining five running distances with music, food and a finish-line celebration on the foreshore.

Saturday afternoon is dedicated to the shorter events, with the 5km starting at 4:00pm and the 2km starting at 5:00pm. These distances suit families, first-time participants and runners looking for a fast outing beside the water. Sunday begins with the Marathon at 6:30am, followed by the Half Marathon at 7:30am and the 10km at 9:00am.
Where the Coast Becomes the Course
The longer Sunday courses combine concrete paths, bitumen roads and a section of compact gravel, with water views around much of the route. Every distance starts and finishes at the Lakes Entrance Foreshore. Aid stations are positioned approximately every 4km for the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km. The 5km and 2km do not have aid stations.
Check In and Take Your Place
Race check-in and bib collection take place at the foreshore from 1:00pm on Saturday and from 5:15am on Sunday. Check-in closes 30 minutes before each race. There is no minimum age for the 2km, 5km or 10km. Participants must be at least 12 for the Half Marathon and at least 16 for the Marathon.
Entry and Finish-Line Celebrations
Race entry is paid, with prices varying by distance and allocation tier. The advertised fee schedule ranges from A$20 for the opening 2km allocation to A$160 for the final Marathon allocation, with GST and booking fees included. Entries are subject to capacity limits, and a card-provider surcharge may apply. Register using the official entry link.
After racing, runners, supporters and visitors can enjoy the free Finish Line Festival on the foreshore. The weekend program includes live music, food trucks, coffee vans, merchandise and partner stalls, plus a licensed pop-up brewery area. The festival is open to everyone, whether they raced, walked or came along to cheer.
