About this event
The Lakes Entrance Running Festival is a weekend of running and celebration on the Lakes Entrance foreshore, where the waterways of East Gippsland meet the ocean. Held from Saturday 31 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, the festival offers a choice of distances for families, first-time participants, recreational runners and experienced distance athletes.
Saturday features the 5km and 2km events, with afternoon starts designed for a relaxed golden-hour run beside the water. The 2km is suited to families and younger participants, while the 5km offers a little more distance for runners seeking a short, accessible challenge.
Sunday’s programme includes a marathon, half marathon and 10km run. Courses use concrete paths, bitumen roads and a section of compact gravel, with water views throughout and a finish-line celebration for participants across all events.
- Saturday 31 October: 5km at 4pm and 2km at 5pm
- Sunday 1 November: Marathon at 6.30am, half marathon at 7.30am and 10km at 9am
- Course details: The marathon, half marathon, 10km and 5km courses are certified measured courses
With coastal scenery, lakeside views, music and a welcoming festival atmosphere, the Lakes Entrance Running Festival is a distinctive East Gippsland running weekend with a course to suit a wide range of abilities.
