About this event
The Lamington Classic Trail Run is a historic two-day trail running event set in Lamington National Park in Queensland, with races held across 26 and 27 September 2026. It offers runners a challenging course along the Border Track between Binna Burra and Green Mountains, through rugged rainforest terrain with steep climbs, rough trail surfaces and exposed roots and rocks.
Across the weekend, participants can tackle either a 21.3 km one-way crossing or a 42.195 km marathon double crossing, depending on the event format. The route is known for its natural beauty as much as its difficulty, making it a standout challenge for experienced trail runners and a memorable way to experience one of Queensland’s most iconic national parks.
As one of Australia’s longest-running trail events, the Lamington Classic has a strong heritage and attracts runners looking for a true mountain trail experience. The event is best suited to those prepared for remote conditions, varying weather, and the demands of self-managed trail running.
