The iconic Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival returns to Australia’s sporting capital on Sunday, 12 October 2025. Thousands of runners from across the globe will participate in a vibrant celebration of running, featuring distances for all ages and abilities.
The event offers six race options: the Melbourne Marathon (42.195km), Wheelchair Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21.1km), 10km Run, 5km Run, and the family-friendly 2.5km Walk. The course starts on Batman Avenue, passes famous Melbourne landmarks such as Flinders Street Station and the Royal Botanic Gardens, and concludes with a memorable finish inside the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Since its inception in 1978, the festival has grown to become Australia’s largest marathon event, combining elite competition with an inclusive atmosphere that welcomes runners of every experience level.
