The Mt Beauty Running Festival, held on Saturday, 16 May 2026 in Mt Beauty, VIC, is renowned as one of Australia’s most scenic foot races, offering a fun and inclusive experience for runners of all ages and abilities.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances: a 10.6km run, a Half Marathon (21.1km), an 18km trail run, and a 3km fun run/walk. The 18km trail course leads runners through stunning national park terrain featuring two shallow river crossings and a mix of 4WD tracks and single trails, providing an exhilarating challenge amid beautiful natural surroundings.
The 10.6km and Half Marathon races follow a fast, sealed, and mostly flat course around the Mt Beauty Pondage and alongside the pristine Kiewa River, passing scenic points such as Pebble Beach. The Half Marathon consists of two laps of the 10.6km route. The 3km fun run/walk is a flat, safe loop around the pondage with no road crossings, perfect for children and prams, and offers panoramic views of Mt Bogong.
This event is environmentally conscious and cup-free; participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups or water bottles for refilling at aid stations throughout the race.
