About this event

Kick off the New Year with the Newport Pool to Peak Ocean Swim, a much-loved community event held at Newport Beach in New South Wales on Sunday, 3 January 2027. Organised by Newport SLSC, it brings together swimmers of different abilities for a relaxed but well-run morning on the Northern Beaches.

Participants can choose from 400m, 800m and 2km swims, making it suitable for first-timers as well as experienced ocean swimmers. The 2km course follows a two-lap route from the beach along the shoreline before returning to shore, while the shorter distances offer a more accessible way to join the action.

The event is part of the Pittwater Ocean Swim Series and is known for its friendly atmosphere and scenic setting. Age restrictions apply, with the 400m open from 10 years and the 800m and 2km open from 13 years.

After the swim, participants can enjoy a classic surf club finish with fresh fruit, a BBQ and prize draws. Category winners and placegetters receive medals, adding a celebratory edge to a morning that is as much about community and summer spirit as it is about competition.
