About this event
Pier to Perignon is a spectacular point-to-point ocean swim linking Sorrento Pier with Portsea Pier along the Mornington Peninsula coastline. Held on Sunday, 14 February 2027, the event offers swimmers a scenic journey through clear coastal waters, with views of beaches, boats, beach houses and the distinctive Norfolk Island pines lining the shore.
The course is approximately 4.5 kilometres and is known for being tide-assisted, although conditions can vary on the day. Swimmers begin at Sorrento and finish at Portsea, following the curve of the coast towards the iconic Portsea Pier and its two-level finish area.
Since its beginnings in 1989, Pier to Perignon has grown into one of Victoria’s best-known ocean swims, attracting more than 1,000 participants in some years. Its popularity means entries traditionally sell out quickly, so early registration is recommended when entries open.
This is more than a challenge in open water. The event combines a scenic swim with a lively, festival-style atmosphere, including food, drinks and plenty of post-swim celebrations. Whether chasing a personal best, taking on a new distance or sharing the day with an ocean-swimming crew, participants can expect a memorable finish and a strong sense of community.
