About this event
Run through the night on a scenic coastal trail at the Ratalang Endurance Run in Port Elliot, South Australia. Held from Saturday 30 January into Sunday 31 January 2027, this 12-hour endurance event follows a smooth, mostly flat 5.275-kilometre loop through Ratalang, also known as Basham Beach, Conservation Reserve.
Participants can enter the endurance run as solo competitors or in pairs, completing as many laps as possible within the 12-hour time limit. Pairs can alternate laps, adding a strategic and social element to the challenge.
For runners seeking a set-distance challenge, the Midnight Marathon covers eight laps, while the Half-Assed Marathon covers four laps. Both begin at 10pm, offering an atmospheric night-running experience beneath the stars.
The course heads west from the start area near the Basham Beach shelter and combines coastal scenery with the challenge of running after dark. A headlamp is essential for the nighttime sections.
