About this event
Meet the communities caring for Tasmania’s land and waterways at the Tasmanian Community Landcare Gathering, held from 6–8 November 2026 in Deloraine. The weekend brings volunteers, coordinators, farmers, landholders and community organisations together for practical learning, creative activities, guided walks and time to connect.
Deloraine Community Complex is the main gathering venue, with separately booked outings taking participants into local reserves, river landscapes and Landcare projects further afield.
Friday: drop in and explore after dark
The free afternoon Social Gathering runs from 2pm to 5pm on Friday 6 November, with no registration required. Drop in for early registration, scrapbooking, digital library support, screen printing and drumming. Food and drinks are available during the afternoon.
Separately booked evening activities include platypus spotting beside the Meander River and Wildwood After Dark, combining a moth presentation with a guided night walk. Check each activity’s booking details for its meeting point and time.
Saturday: learn, share and celebrate
The Meet Up runs from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 7 November, with registration from 8:30am. Workshops, peer panels, questions and answers, small-group discussions, creative activities and the Landcare Lounge offer ways to share experience and get practical advice. Program streams explore community leadership and resilience, catchment and farming systems, and biodiversity and restoration.
Meet Up tickets include morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Current Landcare Tasmania members can access a subsidised ticket at $109 plus a $3.23 booking fee; general admission is $319 plus an $8.48 fee.
The separately ticketed Saturday Celebration includes catered dinner and live music, with drinks available to purchase and room for dancing. Entry is $60 plus a $2 booking fee. You can attend the Celebration without attending the Meet Up. Confirm evening timings when booking.
Sunday: see Landcare on the ground
Field trips on Sunday 8 November visit projects around Deloraine, the Meander Valley and beyond. Topics include river restoration, wildlife habitat, weed management and farm landscapes. Most activities are free, places are limited and each trip requires its own registration. Check individual activity details for transport, food, accessibility, walking conditions and finish times.
