Take on Towers Rush, an action-packed Amazing Race-style adventure through Charters Towers on Sunday, 25 October 2026.
Gather a team of two to five people and race against the clock to complete checkpoints, solve puzzles and tackle creative challenges throughout the town. Teams have four hours to earn as many points as possible, with the team achieving the highest score claiming the Towers Rush title.
Choose the challenge that suits your crew, whether travelling by car, taking part on foot, or representing a school or workplace. Expect a lively mix of teamwork, problem-solving, creativity and plenty of laughs, with challenges inspired by the character and heritage of Charters Towers. Past activities have included abseiling heritage buildings, creating food masterpieces, paddling the Burdekin River and completing a range of unexpected tasks.
Costumes are encouraged, giving teams the chance to show off their personality and compete for the Best Team Costume prize. The event begins at the Charters Towers Showgrounds and runs from 8am to 2pm.
