About this event
United Energy Around the Bay is Melbourne’s biggest one-day cycling event and returns for its 32nd year on Sunday 18 October 2026. Riders can choose from five ride options around Port Phillip Bay, from a family-friendly lap of Albert Park to the iconic 220km Classic.
The event is designed for all ages and abilities, with routes that showcase some of Victoria’s most recognisable cycling scenery. Depending on your distance, the course can include the West Gate Bridge, Beach Road, St Kilda foreshore, Arthurs Seat and the Esplanade at Mt Martha.
Entries include on-route support, rest stops, nutrition and hydration, road closures and traffic management, plus a finishers’ medal. Riders taking on 100km or more receive a free event jersey, while kids under 15 ride free on the Family Ride and 50km option.
This is a major community ride that brings together families, first-timers, workplaces and experienced cyclists for a memorable day on the bike. With multiple start options and a fully supported format, it remains one of Victoria’s best-known mass participation cycling events.
