Skateboarding or Longboarding cruising or tricks partner in suburbs within Hume City Council
Need at least one skateboarder or longboarder to join and build this new skateboarding or longboarding group.
I'm happy to teach beginners who have never been on a board before for a small fee (I have a current valid Working with Children check), but at this stage, I prefer someone with some level of experience who knows what they're doing on a skateboard/longboard and of good character (I will ask you for a copy or screenshot of your vaccination history, Police Check Clearance, no criminal history etc) for personal/physical safety reasons - we can cruise and try tricks/learn from each other for free.
Happy to go in pairs for starters to get to know each other's skill level and personality first but open to expanding to a crew eventually.
Due to the current weather and my FT work schedule, I prefer after 4:00pm weekdays and/or anytime weekends.
What to expect? Fun, exercise, new friendships and growth in your ability to skateboard/cruiser board/longboard and physical health! This will helps you fit in some enjoyable sport time to get you out of your full time work lifestyle!
What is the frequency? Once or more times a week, depending of course on your availability, commitment, and preference.
What time of day? Normally after 4:00pm weekdays or anytime weekends.
What are the costs? ABSOLUTELY FREE!
What to bring? Your own skateboard/cruiser board/longboard, protective pads, skateboarding shoes and of course, a suitable outfit for skating (you can Google images this for examples) and weather on the day.
All ages and abilities welcome!
A photo showing your Police Check is mandatory for everyone's physical safety.

The Resolution Trap: Why ‘All-or-Nothing’ is the Enemy of Consistency
The "New Year, New Me" energy is a powerful motivator, but it often comes with a hidden trap: the all-or-nothing mindset. Many of us start January with rigid fitness resolutions, believing that if we can't commit to a full hour at the gym or a high-intensity session, it’s not worth doing at all. However, groundbreaking research reveals that this psychological rigidity is exactly why most resolutions fail by February. To make 2026 the year your fitness goals actually stick, you need to swap "perfection" for "flexibility." From embracing micro-workouts to finding accountability in local community sports groups, learn how to reframe your thinking and stay active for the long haul—even when life gets in the way.

From reducing isolation to building leadership skills, discover how inclusive sports and nature-based activities are redefining what it means to belong in the Australian outdoors and how local clubs can create more welcoming spaces for everyone.
Keeping Teen Girls in the Game: Is Australia Facing a ‘Grand Décrochage’?
A major study from France has highlighted a concerning phenomenon known as the "grand décrochage"—the great drop-out of teenage girls from organised sport. As the pressure of exams, social media, and body image mounts, many girls are hanging up their boots before they even reach adulthood. But is this just a European trend, or is the same thing happening in our local communities?
