Description
Organiser: ROTARY CLUB OF TOOWOOMBA
Ride the Range is a charity ride through the Lockyer Valley and the Great Dividing Range, with challenging climbs for those who want them. The event starts in Toowoomba, which is about a two-hour drive west of Brisbane CBD and has various transportation options. It is organized by the Rotary Club of Toowoomba to support different local charities each year.
There are six rides available, catering to cyclists of all abilities. The Nifty Fifty is a mainly downhill ride with a 5 out of 10 difficulty score, while the 79 Without the Climb ride goes down the Range into the Lockyer Valley and has a 6 out of 10 difficulty score. The 85 and Classic 112 rides both include a final sharp climb back up the Range, with difficulty scores of 7 and 8 out of 10, respectively. The 100 Mile Challenge is a challenging ride covering 164 km with a 9 out of 10 difficulty score, and the 200 Double range climb is a 200 km ride with two climbs and a difficulty score of 10 out of 10.
Participants can form teams for the Corporate Challenge, and the Nifty 50 and 79 Without the Climb rides include pick-up services to avoid having to climb back up the Range. The event is a great opportunity to support the community and challenge yourself on the beautiful terrain.
