Activity Details
Athletics Waverley is a friendly club founded in 1965, involving athletes of varying abilities and all age groups from U14 to veterans. The club is affiliated with Athletics Victoria and based in the City of Monash, VIC, at Central Reserve, Glen Waverley, which features the best grass track in Victoria and a well-equipped clubhouse.
Athletes compete in track and field events over summer, including sprints, middle distance, distance, relays, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, javelin, shot put, discus, hammer, hurdles, walks, vertical jumps, horizontal jumps, and throws. In winter, athletes compete in road races and cross country events.
The club competes in the Athletics Victoria Summer League at various venues and in cross country events across Melbourne and country Victoria. Several club athletes have represented Australia at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. Athletes wear a red, black, and white club uniform.
The club shares facilities with Waverley Little Athletics Centre.
