Activity Details
Illawarra Volleyball Association runs social volleyball competitions at the Illawarra Indoor Hockey Centre in Unanderra. Tuesday night games run from 7 pm to 10 pm and cater for players from beginners to experienced competitors.
There are three competitions each year, with open-house nights before each competition, ten weeks of round games and finals. Enter as a team, or complete the individual player form before the season starts to seek a place in a team. Individual placement depends on availability, and players placed in a team are expected to commit to the full season.
The social competition is primarily for adults. Juniors may participate, but no special playing conditions apply. Each team must include at least two women or gender-diverse players on its roster. All players need current Recreational or Full Volleyball NSW membership.
The association also runs a school-term Juniors Program for players aged 18 and under, generally recommended for ages 10 and above. Weekly sessions combine skills training and mixed gameplay for beginners through to experienced juniors. The programme uses indoor and beach formats across the year; Term 4, 2026 is a beach programme running from 15 October to 3 December. Registration is required before attending through the relevant term event, and a current IVA membership is required. Trial sessions are unavailable for Term 4, 2026 because places are limited.
Use the association membership page to register or renew membership, and the relevant competition or programme registration option to arrange participation.
