Activity Details
Sydney Masters Hockey Association (SMHA) administers Men's Masters hockey competition across the greater Sydney region, established in 1981 with formal competition beginning in 1982.
Competition Structure:
- 31 teams from 14 clubs competing across 5 divisions: Premier League, Sydney Cup, Masters League, Senior Masters Division, and Grand Masters Division
- Over 600 players participating, ranging from ages 34+ to 80+
Playing Schedule:
- Matches held at Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre
- Tuesday and Wednesday nights between February and September
- Monday matches in February and March only
Participation:
Players can join through their affiliated club and participate in the SMHA competition. Representative teams are also selected for the annual NSW Championships, with opportunities for player representation in NSW and Australian Men's Masters teams.
