About this event
The Airlie Beach Triathlon Festival is a signature North Queensland endurance event set against the spectacular backdrop of the Whitsundays. The festival brings together experienced athletes, first-time competitors, teams and junior participants for a weekend of swimming, cycling and running in and around Airlie Beach.
Race options include the flagship Standard Distance, Sprint Distance, junior events and team participation, providing challenges for a range of ages and abilities. The festival also features an Ocean Swim for competitors who want to take part in the swimming leg only, with 750-metre and 1,500-metre distances available.
Ocean Swim participants take to the clear waters of Pioneer Bay, creating a memorable start and showcasing the region’s coastal setting. Alongside the competition, the event celebrates community participation, endurance sport and the Whitsundays’ appeal as a destination for land, island and sea experiences.
Whether competing for a personal best, entering as part of a team or supporting the athletes from the shoreline, visitors can expect an energetic festival atmosphere in one of Queensland’s most scenic holiday regions.
