About this event
Elephant Trail Race is a multi-day trail-running festival held in the scenic Cairncross State Forest near Pembrooke, a short distance from Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Telegraph Point.
The event features a challenging loop course of approximately 25–27 kilometres, with around 1,200–1,455 metres of elevation gain per lap. Runners can choose from a wide range of distances, catering to first-time trail runners, experienced competitors and ultra-distance athletes.

Long-distance participants take on a continuous off-road challenge across the forest course, while staged events provide a multi-day format. Selected distances offer eligibility for International Trail Running Association points, including the 217km, 160km, 100km solo, 50km and 25km races.
With distances for children, beginners and ultra runners, Elephant Trail Race offers an adventurous weekend of running through the natural landscapes of the Hastings region.
