About this event

The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic is a legendary overnight paddling challenge on the Hawkesbury River, with the 2026 event scheduled for 24–25 October 2026. It covers a 100km to 111km course from Windsor to Mooney Mooney, depending on the source description used, and is designed as a demanding endurance event under moonlight.

Open to a wide range of paddlecraft, the Classic welcomes kayaks, canoes, ocean racing skis, outriggers and dragon boats, making it an inclusive challenge for solo paddlers and teams alike. Participants typically range from teenagers through to older adults, and shorter course options are also offered for those seeking a less demanding distance.

More than just a race, the event is run to raise funds for life-saving medical research. It has a strong community focus and is known for combining physical challenge, teamwork and fundraising along one of New South Wales’ most iconic waterways.
