About this event
The Pier to Pub is an iconic open water swim held in Lorne, Victoria, as part of the area’s January summer event calendar. The 2027 event is scheduled for Saturday 9 January 2027.
It is one of the largest ocean swims in the world, attracting more than 5,000 swimmers each year. The course covers 1.2km from the Lorne Pier to the finish area in front of the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club, just metres from the pub that gives the event its name.
Organised by the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club and its volunteers, the swim is a major fundraiser supporting the club and its programs. The event is also closely associated with the wider summer festivities in Lorne, making it a highlight of the Great Ocean Road calendar.
Entries for the 2027 event are expected to open on Monday 2 November 2026.
