About this event
Port to Pub is a challenging open-water swimming event featuring a direct 19.7-kilometre crossing from Leighton Beach in North Fremantle to Rottnest Island. Swimmers can also take on the 25-kilometre Ultramarathon, which includes an additional 5-kilometre loop before joining the direct crossing course.
The event offers solo, duo and team participation formats, catering to experienced individual swimmers and groups tackling the crossing together. The 25-kilometre Ultramarathon forms part of the Australian Triple Crown of open-water swimming.
Solo entrants must meet the relevant qualification requirements and provide evidence of an approved qualifying swim. For the 19.7-kilometre solo event, this includes completing a 10-kilometre open-water swim in under four hours and 15 minutes within the preceding year, or completing a solo Rottnest Channel crossing within the previous two years. The 25-kilometre Ultramarathon has a faster 10-kilometre qualifying standard of under three hours and 45 minutes.
Participants must be at least 13 years old on event day, with higher minimum ages applying to the 19.7-kilometre solo, duo and team-of-four categories and the 25-kilometre Ultramarathon. Swimmers under 18 require signed parent or guardian consent.
Port to Pub takes place on Saturday, 20 March 2027, starting from North Fremantle, Western Australia.
