About this event
The Red Centre Wringer Backyard Ultra is a last-person-standing ultramarathon organised by the Alice Springs Running and Walking Club. Competitors must consecutively complete a 6.7km course within each hour, with remaining time used for recovery and refueling. The race continues until only one runner can complete an additional lap.
Taking place at Telegraph Station Historical Reserve, the course traverses the rugged terrain of Central Australia's East/Stuart/Arrwe loop. Expect highly technical conditions featuring approximately 64 metres of elevation gain per lap, along with deep sand patches, water crossings, and rocky sections that demand both physical endurance and mental resilience.
This is a self-supported event. Participants must provide all their own food, fluids, medical supplies, and equipment. Set up your personal aid station in the designated area where you will return after each loop, as there are no aid stations on the course itself.
Distances:
1 x 6.71K lap per hour - Last one standing format
