About this event
Swim, paddle or run 2km of iconic Western Australian coastline at the Swanny Ocean Classic, an annual summer event hosted by Swanbourne Nedlands Surf Life Saving Club.
The point-to-point course starts at Cottesloe Beach, near the historic Indiana Tearooms, and heads north along the shoreline before finishing at Swanbourne Beach in front of the Swanny Patrol Tower. For swimmers, the route is marked by buoys and supported by water-safety personnel, with the course staying close to the coast throughout.
The event attracts around 1,000 participants and offers a choice of ocean swimming, racing mal, stand-up paddleboarding and running. Whether you are an experienced competitor, a first-timer or looking for a memorable way to enjoy the WA coastline, the Swanny Ocean Classic combines a scenic course with strong surf-club support and a welcoming community atmosphere.
Expect a lively beach setting at Cottesloe, plenty of pre-event excitement and a celebratory finish at Swanbourne. The 2027 event takes place on Saturday, 6 February.
