About this event

About the Event

Walk for WAGEC brings the community together to raise funds and call for an end to violence against women and children. Organised by the Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre, funds raised help provide emergency accommodation, trauma recovery support, specialist support for children and violence prevention initiatives.

What to Expect

Participants can walk 5km or run 10km through Centennial Park. Registration opens from 7am, formalities and the warm-up begin at 8am, and the walk and run start at 9am. The inclusive, family-friendly community day includes entertainment, food stalls and activities for children and families. Participants may join solo, with friends and family, as a team or with their workplace.

How to Participate

  1. Register at the official link and choose whether to participate solo, with a team or with a workplace.
  2. Create and personalise an individual fundraising page.
  3. Share the fundraising page and invite the community to donate.
  4. Check in at the registration hub on event day before completing the 5km walk or 10km run.
