Cairns QLD 4870, Australia

Description

Event Date: -

Organiser: MILBOE LTD

The CTK Cairns 2 Karumba Bike Ride is a true outback adventure, offering a challenging 7-day cycling experience across North Queensland from Cairns to Karumba. This annual charity ride has been running for over 20 years and involves 250+ riders, volunteers, and support crew who travel together through unique and historic outback towns of the iconic Savannah Way in Far North Queensland. Each year, the ride raises money to help bush children, with a different beneficiary chosen annually.

During the 7 days, riders can choose either the Road Ride or the Dirt Ride and will cover a total distance of 780km from Cairns to Karumba, passing through Atherton, Mount Garnet, Mount Surprise, Georgetown, Croydon, and Normanton. With the 7 Day Road Ride, riders will be covering between 78 to 150km each day.

The 7 Day Dirt Ride is suitable for experienced mountain bike riders with high-quality, well-serviced bikes. This route will challenge even the hardiest of riders with long, corrugated, and sometimes sandy and dusty terrain. Although riders won't be riding entirely on dirt, the organizers do their best to maximize dirt time. Due to its popularity, interested participants will need to complete an Expression of Interest Form to secure a position.

If you're looking for a fantastic adventure, the CTK Cairns 2 Karumba Bike Ride is definitely an event to add to your bucket list.
