About this event
Five Peaks Challenge is a charity cycling event in Canberra held on Sunday 11 April 2027, starting and finishing at Stromlo Forest Park. It is a non-competitive personal challenge organised by the Murrumbidgee Canberra Rotary Club, with routes designed so riders can choose a distance and climbing level that suits their ability.
The ride centres on Canberra’s well-known peaks and now includes six peaks: Mount Stromlo, Red Hill, Mount Pleasant, Mount Ainslie, Black Mountain and Dairy Farmers Hill. Riders can choose between a shorter 83 km route or a longer 113 km route, with options to bypass the peaks for a more moderate ride.
For those wanting a tougher challenge, the longer course includes additional climbing, while the shorter course offers a substantial but more accessible day out on the bike. E-bikes are welcome, making the event more inclusive for riders of different fitness levels.
Event proceeds support selected charitable causes through Rotary, including health, community and research initiatives. The event is designed to be social as well as challenging, with rider facilities and on-site amenities available at the start area.
