McCrae Yacht Club's one-day Start Windsurfing program gives beginners a focused introduction to windsurfing on Saturday 12 December 2026. The course is practical, supportive and built around getting participants safely onto the water with the gear and coaching they need.
What Happens
The session runs from 9:00am to 12:00pm at McCrae Yacht Club. Participants work through the essential skills for starting out in windsurfing, from understanding the equipment through to controlling the board and sail with assistance.
Who Can Join
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin windsurfing. Water confidence is required. All equipment and gear are provided by the accredited Discover Sailing Centre, so participants do not need their own windsurfer to take part.
Australian Sailing Pathway
The course is part of the Australian Sailing Windsurfing pathway. Participants require an Australian Sailing Number when registering and gain a Start Windsurfing completion certificate after completing the course.
Booking Details
The course costs $100 for non-members, with members receiving 20% off. Registration closes at 9:00pm on Friday 11 December 2026. Use the registration option on this event page to secure a place.
