The Amazons Australia, taking place from 4 to 10 July 2026 in Mission Beach, Cassowary Coast, Queensland, is the Adventure Racing World Series' premier all-women’s stage adventure race.
Set in the stunning tropical landscapes of North Queensland, this challenging event features teams of two women competing across multiple disciplines, including trekking, mountain biking, paddling, navigation, and surprise mystery challenges designed to test endurance, teamwork, and resilience.
Teams navigate a series of checkpoints marked on maps, with strategic route choices allowing for varied approaches and tactics that impact overall performance. The race unfolds over three days, with competitors racing up to eight hours each day, followed by evenings dedicated to rest and recovery.
The event celebrates female strength, camaraderie, and adventure spirit, welcoming both seasoned and novice racers aged 15 and over (with under-18 participants accompanied by an adult). It offers a unique opportunity to experience an extreme, multi-discipline race in one of Australia’s most breathtaking environments.
