Organiser: Portland Runners Club
Join the Portland Winter Solstice Fun Run on Sunday, 21 June 2026, at Cape Nelson Lighthouse and the Ploughed Field in Portland, VIC. This event offers four scenic distances—1 mile, 9km, 15km, and 25km—plus a free 1km Kids' Dash, suitable for both runners and walkers.
The 9km course highlights the best of inner Portland, featuring Fawthrop Lagoon and the Foreshore. The Winter Solstice Classic 15km route runs from Cape Nelson Lighthouse to town via Scenic and Cape Nelson Roads. The challenging Lighthouse to Lighthouse 25km course follows the beautiful trails of the Great South West Walk, starting and finishing at the same points as the 15km race. Please note this is a 'no cup' event, so bring your own water bottle or cup.
New in 2026, the Irish Mad Mile races through the heart of Portland, adding an exciting twist to the event. All courses are not suitable for prams or dogs.
Celebrate the winter solstice with a festive finish line carnival featuring food, music, and fun for all ages. The event is proudly organized by the Portland Runners Club, which also donates $2 from each entry to Beats Cycle for Hope.
