The Bendigo Easter Festival, an annual event that has become a beloved tradition for many families, will be taking place in 2023 over the course of four days: from Friday, April 7th to Monday, April 10th. The festival, which is held in the picturesque Rosalind Park and the surrounding streets of Bendigo, offers a wide range of activities and attractions that are sure to delight people of all ages.
One of the highlights of the festival is the Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday, where 80,000 Easter eggs will be hidden for children and adults to find. Additionally, the festival features Carnival Central, where visitors can experience thrilling rides and games, as well as the Rotary Market, where local vendors will be selling a variety of items, including handmade crafts and delicious food.
The festival also includes a number of musical performances, as well as a variety of hands-on activities and performances that are perfect for keeping kids entertained. Another highlight of the festival is the Awakening of the Dragon, which celebrates Bendigo's Chinese heritage with a parade featuring dance, drums, Lion teams, and 100,000 crackers.
On Easter Saturday, visitors can watch the Torchlight Procession, where a convoy of illuminated floats will make their way through the city, followed by a spectacular firework display. And on Easter Sunday, the iconic Gala Parade will take place, featuring the world's longest Imperial Dragon, Dai Gum Loong, as it weaves its way through the historic streets of Bendigo.
The Bendigo Easter Festival is a fantastic opportunity for families to come together and experience a wide range of fun and exciting activities. And, with a diverse range of activities and events, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The main festival precinct and activities will operate from Good Friday - Easter Sunday. Smaller community run events will be held on Easter Monday in various locations within the City.
