The Bogong to Hotham Rooftop Run on Saturday, 17 January 2026 is a demanding 64km point-to-point ultramarathon from Mountain Creek Campground to the summit of Mt Hotham in Victoria, Australia.
Runners begin with a steep ascent of Mt Bogong, Victoria’s highest peak, followed by a technical descent via T-Spur to the Big River. The course then climbs Duane’s Spur to reach the expansive Bogong High Plains. After passing the main aid station at Langford Gap, participants traverse the high plains before descending to the Cobungra River and undertaking the final challenging climb up Swindler’s Spur to finish at the Mt Hotham summit.
Recognized as one of Australia’s toughest races mile-for-mile, the event offers spectacular alpine views and a uniquely rewarding experience. The course is unmarked, requiring all runners to carry a map, a mobile phone with a tracker app installed, and a Telstra SIM card for reliable communication, alongside mandatory safety gear.
In addition to the 64km ultra, there are shorter options of 35km and 29km, providing opportunities for a range of trail running abilities.
