The Bruny Island Ultra Marathon takes place on Saturday, 29 November 2025 in Bruny Island, Tasmania. This annual event offers two challenging distances: a new 42.2 km marathon and the original 64 km ultra-marathon, both available for solo runners or relay teams of up to 10 participants.
Runners in the relay events share the course in legs of approximately 2 km, with designated changeover points every 2 km. Teams can swap runners at these points as often as desired. The 42.2 km marathon finishes at the Bruny Pub Hotel, while the 64 km ultra-marathon concludes at the Cape Bruny Lighthouse.
The course features a mix of bitumen and dirt roads, showcasing the island’s diverse terrain and stunning coastal scenery. Whether competing solo or as part of a team, participants experience a unique and memorable endurance challenge in a family-friendly atmosphere.
