The Buffalo Stampede Festival, held from 27 to 29 March 2026 in Bright, Victoria, is a premier trail running event and part of the internationally renowned SkyRunning series, attracting elite athletes and trail enthusiasts from around the world.
The festival offers a range of race distances to suit all levels, including 100km, 42km, 20km, 10km, 5km, and a 2km Junior Trail Run. Participants can also choose from two multi-day stage race options: the Ultra Grand Slam (comprising 10km, 100km, and 42km races) and the Stampede Grand Slam (featuring 10km, 20km, and 42km events).
The signature 100km Bright Ultra SkyMarathon can be completed solo or as part of a four-person relay team, with relay legs varying between approximately 22km and 30km.
This unique mountain running festival is celebrated for its vibrant community atmosphere, with enthusiastic spectators lining the course through Bright’s scenic hills and mountains. The distinctive sound of cowbells marks the approach to summits and aid stations, creating an inspiring environment for runners and supporters alike.
