Description
The Challenge Canberra Triathlon Festival takes place from 15 to 16 November 2025 at Rond Terrace, Acton, Canberra, Australia. It features a flagship Middle distance race alongside Olympic, Sprint, Super Sprint, and junior Aquathlon events, catering to triathletes of all levels.
The scenic Middle distance course begins with a 1.9 km swim in the central basin of Lake Burley Griffin, offering excellent spectator views. This is followed by a challenging 90 km closed bike course that climbs into the picturesque National Arboretum before finishing on fast, flat roads. The race concludes with a fast, flat half marathon consisting of three laps along the Lake Burley Griffin foreshore, passing through Commonwealth Park, around Nerang Pool, and across Commonwealth Bridge, finishing on Rond Terrace with iconic views of both Australia’s old and new Parliament House.
Additional race distances include:
- Super Sprint: 300m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Sprint: 750m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Olympic: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Junior Aquathlon: 150m swim, 1 km run
Challenge Canberra is a community-focused event that welcomes athletes of all abilities and is a selection race for the 2025 World Age Group Triathlon Championships. Participants enjoy closed roads, on-course nutrition, post-race food, timed results, and a supportive atmosphere in the heart of Australia’s capital city.
