The Glasshouse Standing Backyard Ultra will commence on 31 December 2025 at the scenic Wild Horse Mountain in the Glasshouse Mountains, Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia. This event marks the Sunshine Coast’s inaugural Backyard Ultra.
A Backyard Ultra is an endurance ultramarathon where participants run a loop of 6.7 km every hour, starting precisely on the hour. Runners must complete each loop within one hour and be ready to start the next loop at the top of the hour. The race continues until only one competitor remains, who is crowned the Last One Standing by completing a loop alone.
The race is limited to 200 entrants, ensuring a competitive yet community-focused atmosphere.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the “Save Our Glasshouse Mountains” campaign, supporting conservation efforts in this iconic natural area.
