Description
The Light up the Dark Run on Saturday, 18 October 2025 is a vibrant, family-friendly event held in Kingston, Tasmania. Participants are encouraged to wear glow paint or bright, colorful attire as they run or walk either 2.5km or 5km along a scenic, lantern-lit course.
Starting at Kingston Park, the route follows the picturesque Whitewater Creek Track and includes a loop through the beautifully illuminated Kingston Park playground, showcasing a stunning display of colored lights.
Organised by the Sandy Bay Harriers Athletic Club in partnership with the Kingborough Council and the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, this event highlights the importance of well-designed, safe public spaces for nighttime community activities.
