Mt Bogong Conquestathon
Event location
Description
The Mt Bogong Conquestathon on Saturday, 28 February 2026 is a challenging 21-kilometre trek to the summit of Victoria’s highest mountain, Mt Bogong (1,986 metres).
Starting from Mountain Creek Campground in Tawonga, Victoria, the course features a steep ascent of 1,410 metres over just 9 kilometres via the iconic Staircase Spur trail to the summit.
Participants will experience breathtaking views and diverse landscapes along this renowned and demanding hiking route.
The organising committee strongly recommends that entrants have prior experience completing hikes of similar difficulty—at least 20 kilometres in length with approximately 1,300 metres of elevation gain—to ensure they are prepared for the physical challenge and can effectively manage nutrition and hydration throughout the event.
