Little Penguin Dash Aquathon
Event location
Description
The Little Penguin Dash Aquathlon is a junior beach biathlon for children aged 7 to 14, combining a swim and run along Cowes Beach, Victoria, on Saturday, 31 January 2026. This event runs alongside the Cowes Classic and offers a fun, safe, and supportive environment for young participants.
Racers compete in age-group heats with two course options: ages 7–10 complete a 200m swim followed by an 800m run, while ages 11–14 take on a 400m swim and 1.2km run. Swim depths are adjusted according to age to ensure safety.
Participants change into their running shoes in designated transition areas before dashing along The Esplanade and finishing under the event arch in front of the pub, cheered on by spectators. The focus is on participation and enjoyment; entrants are not timed and no official placements are awarded. Every child receives a medal in recognition of their achievement.
