5K SCADaddle for Research: Brisbane
Event location
Description
The 5K SCADaddle for Research is a community run and walk event held on Sunday, 26 October 2025 at New Farm Park, Brisbane. This 5-kilometre event aims to raise awareness and essential funds for research into Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD), a rare but serious heart condition.
Join family and friends for a refreshing morning in Brisbane’s scenic New Farm Park. Whether you choose to walk, jog, or run, your participation supports vital research efforts to better understand and combat SCAD.
SCAD is an uncommon emergency heart condition where a tear forms in one of the coronary arteries, potentially causing a heart attack or sudden death. It primarily affects people without traditional heart attack risk factors, with an average patient age of 42, and approximately 80% of cases occurring in women.
