McLaren Vale Running Festival
Event location
Description
Organiser: SARRC
The McLaren Vale Running Festival, organised by the South Australian Road Runners and Walkers Club, takes place on Sunday, 19 October 2025 at Hardy's Tintara Winery in McLaren Vale, SA.
Runners can choose from 5km, 10km, and half marathon distances, all set along the scenic Shiraz Trail. The half marathon route follows the beautiful trail between McLaren Vale and Willunga, incorporating a loop along the rail trail between McLaren Vale and Seaford. The 10km and 5km courses offer a fast out-and-back run towards Willunga.
The course features a smooth, well-maintained bitumen surface, originally an old railway line, which provides a mostly flat terrain with minimal undulations. This makes it ideal for runners aiming for a personal best or those seeking an enjoyable, relaxed race experience in one of South Australia's premier wine regions.
